Dairy Nutrition Consultant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop cost effective ration formulations that maximize income over feed cost according to use of our technology.
- Consultiation of farms
- Build and maintain client relationships.
- Regularly scheduled visits to clients; maintain visit logs and notes.
- Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers
- Strong commitment to nurture existing relationships and cultivate new opportunities
- Streamlined decision making provides answers quickly – no red tape
- Report to the Director of Nutrition – no chain of command – quick decisions.
- Day travel within the territory – overnight travel as needed
- Continued education and staying current with research and industry.
- Provide client training.
EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, agriculture, business, or relevant science-related degree
- 5 or more years’ experience in sales and/or technical support role relevant to the dairy industry
- Working knowledge of the farm and data management software
- Technical knowledge of nutritional models and management practices
REQUIRED SKILLS / COMPETENCIES
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work independently with exceptional organization skills
- A passion for the dairy industry and cows
Preferred:
- Advanced degree (M.S., Ph.D., DVM)
- Bilingual ability
